UAW LOCAL 14 IS AN AMALGAMATED UNION

The GM Powertrain Unit has approximately 1,300 members and is a manufacturer of automatic 6-speed rear-wheel-drive transmissions and will begin production of 6-speed front-wheel-drive transmissions in 2010.

Our Office Unit has two members that are dedicated to the office work of our Local and our Units. Also included in our local are two Maintenance Workers Unit members.

Mathews Ford of Oregon, Knight FM and Lucas County Juvenile Court have joined our local and all of our brothers and sisters of Local 14 UAW welcome them home. We are also proud of our retirees - we have over 4,000 with Jesse Oyerbides as President of the Chapter.

Our first President of Local 14, Robert Travis, provided the leadership and manpower necessary to carry the Flint Michigan sit-down strikes of 1936 - 37 to their successful conclusion.
