Welcome to Local 14

Local 14 is an Amalgamated Local Union. The GM Powertrain Unit has approximately 1,300 members and is a manufacturer of automatic rear-wheel drive 4-speed transmissions and recently secured work for a new rear-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive six speed transmissions.

Our Office Unit has two members that are dedicated to the office work of our Local and our Units. Also included in our local are two Maintenance Workers Unit members.

Mathew's Ford of Oregon and Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center have recently joined our local and all of our brothers and sisters of Local 14 UAW welcome them home.

We are also proud of our retirees - we have over 4,000 with Otis Green as President of the Chapter.

Our first President of Local 14, Robert Travis, provided the leadership and manpower necessary to carry the Flint Michigan sit-down strikes of 1936 - 37 to their successful conclusion.
