PARK RENTAL INFORMATION
Shelter House Rental Information
When available: We will start taking reservations on February 1st, for the summer.

Who: GM EMPLOYEES OR RETIREES ONLY.
The Family Recreation Park is for the use of Powertrain Toledo Employees, Retirees and their families only. Each GM Powertrain employee or retiree is allowed to rent one shelter one time per year. When renting a shelter, the person who has rented the shelter MUST be present at all times.

Restrictions: CLASS REUNIONS, CHURCH PICNICS AND PRIVATE CLUB ACTIVITIES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

Costs: There are 5 shelters in the park
4 are 60 person capacity and rent for $30 (Shelters 1 - 4)
1 is 100 person capacity and rents for $40 (Shelter 5)
 

SHELTER 1
This shelter is the closest to the parking lot It's located in between Shelters 2 and 3.

SHELTER 2
This shelter is south of Shelter 1 (further away from the plant.)

SHELTER 3
This shelter is to the right of Shelter 1 and closest to the basketball and tennis courts.

SHELTER 4
This shelter is located next to the horseshoe pits
and the miniature golf course.

SHELTER 5
This is the largest and most secluded shelter and is visible from Jackman Road.

Each shelter is equipped with 2 or 3 grills to use.
One of the grills is very large.

Procedure:

  1. Stop by the Union Hall Office and fill out a Reservation application and pay the rental fee.
  2. You will present the reservation application form and sign-in at the control office upon arrival at the park.
  3. You assume accountability for damages to the park grounds or structures caused by you or your guests.
  4. When equipment is lost or damaged, the person who rented the shelter is responsible for the cost of replacing the item(s).

                                         
    (You receive a volleyball, soccer ball, football, four horseshoes, four putters and
    four colored golf balls and a Frisbee upon checking in at the park.    )

  5. You are responsible for the cleanliness of your area.
  6. Bicycle riding or inline skating are permitted on the running track only.
  7. Vandalism of park property means loss of park privileges
  8. No pets, No weapons, No fireworks, No power-operated vehicles, No alcoholic beverages, No tree climbing, No abusive language, No wading or fishing in creek
  9. Parking lot is to be used by employee/retiree and guests using the park facilities.
  10. Employees/Retirees are responsible for their guests.
  11. You have been presented a waiver of Worker's Compensation Benefits for signature
                         
Tennis Courts are available
        
The park has a miniature golf course. Putters and golf balls are available at the Park Office.

Cancellation / Rain dates: You may rent one (1) shelter one time per year. Cancellations must be made one (1) week in advance for refund. In case of rain, a rain date may be chosen PROVIDED that a shelter is available, but no refund will be made.

TENT RENTAL

Who: Employees and retirees of Toledo GM Powertrain may rent one tent at a time, but as many times as you want during the summer. There are 4 tents to rent per weekend.

Costs: The fee is $40.00 and you get the tent from Friday to Monday. The tents are tops only, there are no sides. PARK / TENT RENTAL DATES CLOSED DUE TO EVENTS.

Shelters and Tents are not available on the following dates:

  • August 11 - 12 PT Family Picnic
  • Sept. 8-9 (weekend) Park & Shine Car Show Sept. 9, 2007

This is a tentative schedule and dates are subject to change.
